The K Cer
My question is a long the lines of the first post, with the exception that I am creating a 20x30 composite poster with an image as background, a baby picture smaller and blended in, and text. In the past, I opened a new document as a 20x30 and placed the embedded images and added text. Then output as a jpeg 10 or 8, but the PSD files were huge! Will it work just as well to open a new document as a 10x15 and for output crop as a 20x30? Thank you.
Kim Howells
No, because you are presumably putting the resolution in when you open the new document. So going from the smaller to the larger doc would require upsizing, and a resultant loss of quality. So I would start with the size you intend to print.
The K Cer
Great, thanks. I'm happy to know that I've been doing something correctly for once.
