Falon
Hey Damien, I would love to be able to create a dump truck collage for my client. Is this something you can help me with as I'm unable to find any templates online for it. Here is a example of something similar but i would like it in a truck instead of a train. Damien Symonds
Well, it requires the Pen Tool, have you used it before?
Falon
No but willing to give it a go.
Damien Symonds
Well, I figure the first step is to either sketch a truck shape (literally sketch it, pencil on paper) or find a truck photo you like that you can trace. Do you have one in mind?
Falon
Yes I'm thinking a dump truck I will find one that I like and trace it
Falon
would this work if i traced the outside?
Damien Symonds
Yes, I think so.
Falon
ok I have traced it. Does it matter what size you trace it?
Damien Symonds
No, the size doesn't matter at all, that's one of the reasons to use the pen tool. May I see a screenshot, showing your layers panel?
Falon
I haven't done anything in the layers panel yet. I just sketched it to paper
Damien Symonds
Oh, crap, sorry! No, you only needed to sketch it if it was coming from your own head. Since you already have a file, you need to trace it with the Pen Tool.
Falon
This was just a photo i found in google i don't have a file can i use this?

Falon
Not sure if i have done this correctly
Damien Symonds
No, sorry You've got the right approach, but it really needs to be all one layer.
Falon
it seemed to do this its self is there a reason why it would do this?

Damien Symonds
Somehow you stopped the path then started it again. Just now, Falon said: Terrific. Now you can turn off the "Layer 0" so that only the path layer is visible. Then may I see the whole screenshot?
Falon
I think it may have been when i went around the bar on the front of the truck so I just cut that bit out is this ok Edited June 24, 2018 by Falon
Damien Symonds
Totally ok. You couldn't fit a photo nicely into there anyway. May I see it without the marching ants? Now you have to plan the slices. How many photos do you intend to put in here?
Falon
Im thinking maybe 4 or
Falon
How do I do the slices?
Damien Symonds
I'm SO sorry about the delayed reply. We had family visiting. 1 hour ago, Falon said: I was afraid of this. The wheels aren't round. http://bezier.method.ac/
Falon
Is this any better?
Damien Symonds
Definitely. Well done. Now, can you add a blank layer on top, and use your brush tool (in red or green or yellow or something) to show me roughly how you'd like to divide it up into the individual photo pieces?
