Ashley Driscoll
I'm trying to think of a way I can make the clothing blend into the background. Add texture, make it "flowy"- so there's no real difference between the background and the clothes/covering. Is this possible? I didn't have any tulle and this was just a photo we took on a whim to see if I could make it work. No idea... Damien Symonds
This kind of stuff is really not my forte, I'm afraid. But I had a bit of a play:

Damien Symonds
Oh really?? Yay! I'll upload the PSD in a moment, stand by ...
Damien Symonds
Download the PSD I tried a bunch of different artistic filters, and found that Paint Daubs sort of kept some shape, but got rid of the texture sufficiently. However, try them for yourself, you might find another one you like better.
Ashley Driscoll
Thank you! I really had no idea where to start and the banding was killing me. Thanks so much! I'll post my result
Ashley Driscoll
Ok- done with my other project and now trying this out. I'm having a hard time figuring out what that first layer named "Paint Daubs Filter" is... What exactly is that? I see in your post that it's a filter but can't find it... Ashley Driscoll
Ahhh! Found it. Wow I had no idea you could go in and change preferences to include filters. My hubby always asks me if I've Googled the answer to my questions yet...

Ashley Driscoll
Oh yikes. I see major banding after I uploaded that. May I get a tip on how to get rid of that? You used color fill- I'm not familiar with that. Any hints on starting to use it?
Damien Symonds
In the half-black-half-white circle icon menu in the Layers panel, it's called "Solid Color". Once you add it, it is called "Color Fill". I've never understood it, I wish Adobe would fix it. I love what you've done. Where are you seeing banding? Ashley Driscoll
There's a bit up in the upper right where I've missed that dark area and along the right corner... yes? I'll try the color fill! Thanks so much!
