Raw - fading color

Hi Damien,

Just finishes this photo in your Raw classes. i love the overall editing on this photo however, i have a question. when i increased the exposure the dress become whiter ( i understand why) but when i try to bring in some saturate color in it the whole photo becomes more reddish and it looses its glow. i just dont know how to fix only the dress to bring its color and not affecting anything else. The eyedropper tool was used but it was making the whole photo pinkish.

Are you calibrated so that your monitor matches your prints?

I'm unsure of how much help Damien will be able to give you here since you have to be in the Deluxe class to receive feedback on your raw editing. He should be on soon though.

I am not calibrated however when i look at the original RAW photo and compare it after raw edit on the same computer monitor screen the dress is showing very light after edit. No i am not a deluxe member yet.

Is it just the bottom of the dress that needs more colour?  From the tummy down?

Yes the top is silver however the rest of it pinkish. As per the attached (just for reference).

Ok, fabulous!  So all you need to do is add a very pale red Solid Color layer (I suggest R250,G225,B225) on "Multiply" blend mode, and mask it on.
