Eyes don't look real

She has really long eyelashes, and somehow it looks like her eyes are closed here. But they're not. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to make this better?

I reckon the problem is the lightness of the lashes.

Is the length a thing too?

I added a Channel Mixer layer, with these settings:

Then I put the layer on "Multiply" blend mode, and inverted the mask to hide it.

Then painted on to the lashes gently with a 10% brush.
