Toni Agallar Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 I'm noticing some funky pixilation in some of my photos. Any idea what this is? I don't think it's noise but I'm not sure. I've attached a few crops after zooming to 100 percent.
Damien Symonds Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Hi Toni, could you please take the sections like this?
Damien Symonds Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 And for reference, may I see the whole photo?
Damien Symonds Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Terrific, thanks. Did you shoot this in raw format?
Damien Symonds Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Did you notice the weirdness in your raw program, or only in Photoshop later?
Toni Agallar Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) I just checked in FastStone and I don't see it there. Edited June 15, 2016 by Toni Agallar
Toni Agallar Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Silly me...yes I see it once I pull to ACR.
Damien Symonds Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Ok, may I see a screenshot of your whole ACR screen (including sliders) and zoomed in to 100% on the area?
Damien Symonds Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 I'm flummoxed, sorry. I have no idea what it would be. I assume that if you choose "Camera Raw Defaults" from the little submenu over on the right-hand side, it's still there?
Toni Agallar Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Actually when I chose "Camera Raw Defaults" it disappears.
Toni Agallar Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 I've just started seeing this in my last few sessions and it's not on all of my images.
Damien Symonds Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Great! So go ahead and do your raw processing again, and watch out for it. By the way, I beg you to consider a refresher of The Raw Class. The new updated material will blow you away. As a previous member, the price is significantly discounted.
Toni Agallar Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Should I always have camera default raw selected? I will sign up for the refresher tomorrow and thank you for all your help!

Camera Raw Default is how a photo looks before you begin editing it. Since CRD fixed this problem, it means that the problem was caused by something you did editing.
Toni Agallar Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 I've gone through the new class and wow! I re-edited this picture following your flow chart and the pixilation never showed up. I'm so glad you told me to take the new class. 1
