Better reason: Auto White Balance

It’s really easy to adjust the white balance in a Raw file. (I’ll be discussing this at length in later modules.) So, if it suits you, you can leave your camera on “Auto White Balance” and shoot away merrily. If the camera gets it wrong, you can adjust the Raw files later. There’s no limitations, and no loss of quality.

You certainly can’t do that with a Jpeg file. Sometimes you can adjust white balance in Jpegs, but only to a degree.

That’s a point for the Raw team. Hooray!
