Damien Symonds
Jump to next slide >> Raw and colour space You’ll be aware that you can set your camera to shoot in either the sRGB or Adobe RGB colour spaces. But this only applies to Jpegs. Raw files don’t have a colour profile attached to them. Your Raw processing program dictates the colour space of your photos. Lightroom’s default output space is ProPhoto RGB, and ACR’s default space is Adobe RGB. Both of those defaults are terrible, but thankfully both can easily be changed. I’ll be discussing colour spaces in much greater depth in later modules. For now, all you need to remember is that colour space is a software issue, not a camera one.
