chana Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 hi I have a Mac mini processor with a dell U2419H, I calibrated with the Spyder 5 pro....and is overexposed and colouring abit off...aniway you could help me? thanks
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Hi @chana, did you follow my calibration instructions here?
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 but im not finding the go and preferences option
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Oh, sorry, on a Mac it's in a different menu. I can't remember what it's called, but it'll be there somewhere. Show me a screenshot of your available menus if you can't find it.
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 hi current is 209 how do I change it? I. turn on the lights of the room...started from the begging and is showing 209... should I press update?
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 209 is completely outrageous. You forgot to adjust your screen's brightness to match your prints at the beginning of the instructions.
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 color ? or brightness? because the only option that I have here is kelvin not brightness
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Is this the monitor you have? https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_electronics_accessories/esuprt_electronics_accessories_monitors/dell-u2419h-monitor_user's-guide_en-us.pdf
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Page 37 tells you how to adjust the brightness.
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 just did it...so how much brightness should I set up?
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 As low as it needs to be. To match your pro lab prints. Which lab are your prints from?
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Great. So take that brightness way down, until you have a match.
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 I put on 76% but the colours are pinkish
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Sorry, yes, press "Update". 2 minutes ago, chana said: I put on 76% but the colours are pinkish Don't worry about the pinkish for now. Only the brightness at this stage.
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 before I click update...my last prints that arrives...and that's the reason also why I want to calibrate they came extremely overexposed...anything to do with my calibration?
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 also I put on 76% only the one of the sun symbol...correct?
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 I put down to 70% and is still on 147 should I change also in the moon sign?
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 No, leave the moon (contrast) exactly where it is. Keep the brightness going down. The result should be somewhere between 80 and 100. Some people have to take their screen's brightness to 10% or even lower.
chana Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 im up 40%..is it supposed to be soo dark?
Damien Symonds Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Yes. You've become too used to it being REALLY REALLY bright. So proper brightness always seems too dark at first.
