Rebecca Yin
I am trying size my images for the first time and getting confused! I am trying to size to 11:15. Is there an article that explains how to do this? Do I use the crop tool or go to 'Image size?' I am finding that my images are not as big as 11:15 so that when I do a crop, there is empty space around the image? Or if I do it via 'image size,' my photo then looks out of proportion? Is this explained in one of your courses? Thanks
Damien Symonds
Always with the Crop Tool. It can't work with Image Size, because mathematics (it will be out of proportion, as you say). Can you show me a screenshot of how you're cropping to 11:15?
Rebecca Yin
I'm definitely doing something wrong here! I'm also not sure how to get the numbers exact?
Damien Symonds
In your screenshot, your crop tool is set to "Ratio" in the Options Bar, which is exactly correct ... but you haven't typed 15 and 11 in the fields?
Rebecca Yin
I think I have got it now. Do I ignore the W and H numbers in the info panel as they differ from the 15 and 11 in the options bar? Thanks
Damien Symonds
Yes, ignore those numbers. They don't matter a bit.
