funlovephotography
I create the 1:1 previews, and if I work on the files right away, the performance is good, but if I come back the next day, say, or a couple of weeks later, they no longer load quickly - like the 1:1 preview has disappeared. SOMETIMES rebuilding the 1:1s is possible (so indeed it had disappeared), but other times it claims to be already built, but the full-size view still takes an age to load. This has been happening a long time (years), but I've never been able to find a solution. Anyone have any ideas? thx
Damien Symonds
Hi Heather, Christina will be along to help you with your question as soon as she is available. To help her out, do you mind doing this?
funlovephotography
I have a Mac laptop running OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 and Lightroom 5.7. It is over 2 years old, and has 16GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 50GB free out of 500GB. The last time I shut down was more than 2 days ago. I have never run a cleanup program.
Damien Symonds
Oh gee. The 50GB free is likely the problem. Brian always says you have to have at least one-third free space. Also, run CleanMyMac, pronto.
Christina Keddie
I agree with Damien. Clear up hard drive space, run a cleanup program, and for the love of God, restart your computer. If this problem persists after that, then do come back and we can try troubleshooting, but you've got to get those basics squared away first.
