Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 now I know this is off topic...I went to make a watermark with your instructions and that's how I realised I was removed from the facebook group (first time I had enough time to sit down and do it). I'm just wondering if this can be turned into a watermark, ill find a tutorial somewhere,
Damien Symonds Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 The tricky thing about all black watermarks is that they don't work well on dark backgrounds.
Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 Can I change it to white? I have found a better image as well, im use tidying it up. I just want the image and my name, ill figure it out, its cold and I aint going outside so I have all day to search
Damien Symonds Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Have you read the general info here? https://www.damiensymonds.net/2012/01/creating-saving-and-using-watermark-ps.html
Damien Symonds Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Very easy to change it to white, or to any colour at all. Just hit Cmd Opt Shift 2 (plain 2, not F2) to get marching ants, then Cmd Shift I to invert the selection, then add a Solid Color layer.

Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I cant get it to work, someone can get paid to make me a watermark.
Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I've been able to make the selection of the outline white but don't know how to make it transparent so I can use the outline along with text.
Damien Symonds Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 No, you didn't follow the steps properly. Show me the original image.
Damien Symonds Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Oh! Then you did do it right. You just shouldn't have chosen white as the color of the Solid Color layer. Also, you have to turn off the Background layer.
Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I have gotten to this point, checkerboard behind everything
Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I'm now trying to move that onto an image but for some reason I can not select it, transform it or move it...
Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I was going to try and save it as an action, but I have never done that before so I might give that a go another time. thank you for your help
Damien Symonds Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Don't worry, I've already done that part for you. https://www.damiensymonds.net/act_web.html
Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 yeah I read through that and it still seems very complicated for a novice , I've only uploaded a few photos onto facebook etc and only resizing I do is the long side to 2040 for facebook. ive never known how to resize properly otherwise.
Damien Symonds Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I know it looks complicated, but I've laid it out step by step, I'm sure you can do it.
Gingersnaps Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I will try this again when I understand resizing a bit better. I gave it a go and I can sort of understand how it works
