KimMoore
Hi Damien, I'm making a flyer in photoshop to be printed normal A4 size, but will also be printed as a sign like a house forsale sign. How would I size this? I started by making a new black document & added in piece by piece after that.
Damien Symonds
As long as all the text and logos are vectors, and as long as you Placed the image (not copied and pasted it in) so it's a smart object, the whole design can be resized to any size you want. https://www.damiensymonds.net/trainingprepress.html
KimMoore
Yes, I placed all the images in separately. When I made the initial file I made it a size in inches to see what size I need to work with the photo. I know this isn't correct, do I use pixels to make the correct size & what size do I use. I'm a real newby in this size stuff. and I will sign up for the trainingprepress class.
Damien Symonds
You may rest assured that the size doesn't matter. But the shape definitely matters. And the design you showed me above doesn't look like A4 shape?
KimMoore
No its not. Sorry to explain. I have been asked to make a flyer for the above event, for printing flyers, for fb add's & also to go on a road side sign using corflute (forsale sign board). To be honest I have no idea how to size this, but I know I am using a landscape photo to fit in it as above.
Damien Symonds
Shape is so important, and if they're asking you to design something that will be printed in different shapes ... well, that's definitely a hassle. Do you know the exact dimensions of the corflute print?
KimMoore
Or am I ok with how it is?
KimMoore
No I don't, I'm wondering if I should look up standard sizing. I will see if I can check with the printing company over the weekend what size they have.

Damien Symonds
Ah crap. That's nothing like A4 shape
Damien Symonds
Ok, design the A4 one first, and get it perfect and completely approved. Then save a different copy of it for the 900x600 version, and move the items around as needed.
