InkyPrintsAu
I'm going to have a shot at designing my own logo in photoshop, I was wondering if anyone had any pointers on what canvas size I should use and what format to save in, as well as any other pointers would be greatly appreciated! Damien Symonds
Oh, great question! Technically speaking, as long as you design it properly (that is, entirely made of vectors) the size shouldn't matter. However, to be safe, it would be a good idea to make it reasonably big - maybe 4000px wide. The first step is to literally sketch some ideas with pencil on paper. Have you done so? If so, may I see? InkyPrintsAu
Thanks Damien, I've had a go at building a concept, now off to research all about vectors because its not something I've ever used before, but the above info has been a great start thanks! Damien Symonds
Oh crap. No, vectors won't work here. I love what you've done, but you've inadvertently chosen the hardest design to work with.
Damien Symonds
You painted that, then scanned it, I assume? Or photographed it at least? Then added the text afterwards?

Damien Symonds
Ok, so if it was my logo, I think I'd want the middle part of the paint to be nice and strong and solid, but the lighter edges to be a tiny bit see-through, so that if I used it as a watermark, I could slightly see the photo through those areas. Eg: However, it's your logo, not mine, so I'm happy to help you to do it any way you like.
