Bad baby Eczema

Im having trouble with this one, whats your suggestion? Ive attached my attempt up to where I am stuck with the darkness of it.

I think you've done an excellent job so far.  Now it's a slow and painstaking matter of handyman method.

Ok thank you. Ill keep at it. Thankfully this is one of the closest images we did, the wider ones are easier to fix since theres not the detail to keep.

It's just rotten luck that it was worst in that little area of shadow, right?

Yes, I was considering if it would be easier to lighten the shadows then edit it (I usually get skin right first then play with tones) anyways, heres where Im at now. Im happy with it, but am I missing anything?

I dunno, it seems a bit flat to me.

Ok, I think it might have been from a top layer I added to try and put a bit of texture in and overcome a bit of patchiness on it. I knocked the opacity back on that layer and it has put a bit of depth back in.  Heres the wide shot again

It looks easily passable.  Nobody will know.

Oh good, her parents did ask me to tidy it up but I think they will be surprised how much was possible. The poor little thing, it must be very sore. Thanks again for your help!
