NEF and JPEG files - can't open in Bridge

Hi Damien,  I have some NEF and JPEG files that just show up as icons and an up arrow.  I cannot open these.  Don't know what the photos are, as I just see icons.  Any suggestions?  I have an iMac 2017, Big Sur. and Bridge 2022.

The arrows indicate that they are aliases, not the real files, don't they?

Where is your G drive backed up to?  Have you checked the backup drive to see if you can open them from there?

My computer is now turning off on its own - many times I have tried.  Can't access anything at this point.  As a matter of fact, I am typing this on my laptop, not my desk top.  I have an SOS out to Brian but if you can add anything, I am all ears.
