K Dzugan
I just read Lara's article on taking photographs of old photographs. I have shot an old record album cover using a Canon 5D, 100mm macro, F8, ISO 800. The problem I have is that the photo I take comes out too detailed. I see the grain of the paper, and every blemish that isn't even visible to my eye when looking at the original. It makes the restoration in Photoshop very painstaking. When I look at the original cover, what my eyes see looks so much better and smoother. Is there a way to make the camera see what my eyes see (if that makes any sense)? I have the same issue when I scan, no matter what dpi I try. BTW, restoration of this photo is for my personal use only. Link to comment
Damien Symonds
I have this same issue. No, there's no way to make it look like our eyes see it, because our eyes are so useless. May I see a 100% crop from part of it? https://www.damiensymonds.net/2013/09/grabbing-700x700px-100-crop.html Link to comment
