Jennifer Casalegno Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I love the look of this photographers glowing warm shots. Specifically the seventh and 15th down. http://www.missbymarissa.com/blog/ann-arbor-senior-photographer-abbey-elizabeth/ I'd like to use these shots: Thank you!

Specifically the seventh and 15th down. Did you maybe mean seventh and seventeenth? The 15th one, by my count, is a girl leaning against a stone wall with one leg out, and it doesn't look particularly golden.
Damien Symonds Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Ok, great. Go ahead and raw-process your photos as normal, then we'll talk about the golden stuff.
Damien Symonds Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 While you're fixing the raw editing, can you also look for some golden example images that have the same lighting as yours? That is, the "panda eyes" facial shadows? Presently, you're desiring a beautiful look that just isn't possible with your photos
Jennifer Casalegno Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 I hate those eyes!! Can I reduce that look?
Damien Symonds Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 To a degree, yes. It would take some very patient and time-consuming D&B. Can you re-shoot?
Jennifer Casalegno Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 No re-shooting but I can learn and be better next time.
Damien Symonds Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 The example photos you linked ... I assume they had some fill flash used. You'd need to ask about it in a photography group though - I can't advise you on that.
Jennifer Casalegno Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 This one has less panda eyes. Will it work?
Damien Symonds Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Well, it would still require a fair bit of D&B to make it look akin to the example ones, but yes, it should be feasible. And it's lovely and golden already, yes?
Damien Symonds Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Amazing what correct white balance does :\
Jennifer Casalegno Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 I really have become terrible with wb lately. What should I do first?
Damien Symonds Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Pour a stiff drink, put some music on, and start very gently dodging and burning her face to make it look front-lit.
Jennifer Casalegno Posted October 27, 2016 Author Posted October 27, 2016 Am I approaching this the correct way so far?
Damien Symonds Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Yep, good stuff! For the areas of her face which are too bright, maybe this might work?
Damien Symonds Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Well, keep going. There's still more shadow on her face than your example images.
Damien Symonds Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 Yep, I don't see how you could do much more. Good job.
