KimMoore
Hi Damien, You may have covered this one before. I'm wondering how to achieve that golden sunset look? https://www.sophieleaphotography.com.au/ The one I am thinking of is the photo in the middle with the couple & the two kids, I've sent a screenshot of the picture. All Sophie's pictures have a real warmness about them.
Damien Symonds
Guideline Number 3.
KimMoore
That wasn't as hard as I imagined. I'm thinking this is what most people would buy actions for & never understand how it is achieved. Thank you

KimMoore
I was just confused why you linked it again? As I attached the photo with the changes.
Damien Symonds
I WANT YOU TO FOLLOW GUIDELINE NUMBER THREE.
KimMoore
can I use this one then? if I do the raw processing on it
Damien Symonds
Yes, that might be better.
KimMoore
or this one? Out of interest sakes, why was the first one not right. Was it because it didn't have the rich dark background.
Damien Symonds
Yes, that might work too. Yes, the background. It would be best if you had a photo with the massive sun flare on their heads too; or else find a different example photo without it.
KimMoore
Ok, I understand. This one might be the best option?
Damien Symonds
The sand won't give a blackened effect like in your sample photo, but it's worth a try.

KimMoore
I'm just doing mine now, what opacity, flow & smoothing do you have your brush set to for this work?
Damien Symonds
Smoothing always 0, Flow always 100. They never vary. Opacity was 100% for the initial blob on her head, then I used 10% to expand it gently.
KimMoore
Eeeek! why would my smoothing be at 10%? Would this be from when I set up my quick mask.... Ok, I've got it this far. I realised I missed changing the solid colour to screen. I'll play around with the rest in the morning.
Damien Symonds
It's 10% by default I think.
