*Michelle*
Hi Brian My old Dell just died so I need a replacement urgently (Pro tog, large format fine art printing). Budget somewhat limited as I also need a desktop upgrade soonish. Looking at this Dell UltraSharp 31.5 Inch U3223QE Monitor and just wanted to make sure this model is suitable and there isn't anything better I should be looking at around the same price range. https://www.amazon.com.au/Dell-UltraSharp-U3223QE-31-5-Monitor/dp/B09TVZHV4W/ref=asc_df_B09TVZHV4W?tag=bingshopdesk-22&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80401861673416&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584001437018425&psc=1 Thank you Michelle

*Michelle*
What monitor would you recommend in the $1000AU price range? I need 32" for other work so can't go smaller.
Damien Symonds
The Dell Ultrasharp range are a good place to be looking. Just make sure it's matte.
*Michelle*
Oh thankyou, I assumed it was a matte surface, thanks for pointing that out!
*Michelle*
Hi Damien, sorry to be a pain. Do you know if the Dell Ultrasharp range comes in both glossy and matte/anti-glare surface options anywhere in the world? I live very rural, 350km from a city so cannot go and confirm in person. I have called a number of stores around Australia that sell Dell, but no-one has them in store to confirm whether the 32" Ultrasharp comes in glossy or just the standard matte surface. The amazon listing above is the only place that mentions it has a glossy surface. No mention on the Dell website as to surface, only one 32" Ultrasharp listed, the U3223QE and that the screen coating is 'Anti-Glare, 3H Hard Coating'. I have contacted them yesterday for clarification, no response yet. I am starting to think the amazon listing stating glossy may be an error - waiting to hear back from the seller on that, but would feel a bit more confident that it is matte if neither you nor Brian have heard of the Ultrasharp range coming in a glossy surface option. Thank you
Damien Symonds
You're right, I'd never heard of a glossy US before this.
*Michelle*
Thanks Damien, that is a relief because I am sure if there was you would have heard about it. No response from Dell (and no other retailer I have spoken to can confirm either way) but I feel confident now to go ahead and buy it
Brian
Since you are in Oz, your Amazon is quite limited. What you are looking for something like this: Dell 32" Monitor - P3223QE In addition to the IPS Screen, what you are looking for in a Dell Monitor is the "Screen Coating," you want it to be Anti-Glare, 3H Hard Coating. If you look in the Technical Specifications, it should appear something like this: Now, if you look closely, the monitor I linked to is the "P" 3223QE, which doesn't have the glossy screen. So even though the displays look nearly identical, this small model number difference makes all the difference in the world. I agree with Damien, avoid the "U" 3223QE at all costs. Look for a Dell P3223QE. Even if you have to purchase it directly from Dell.
