assign an icc profile prior to printing

if I am preparing photos to be printed in a lab. I have downloaded the icc paper profile but how do I assign it and then save as?  I can work out how to do it if I was printing it. I thought the assign profile should be in the edit menu on photoshop elements. I am  wondering if this option is only available on  with photoshop and not elements?

Hang on, this doesn't sound right at all.

Are you sure they specifically told you to assign the profile?

It’s not a must but apparently it is recommended for their different papers, I.e lustre

No they didn’t use term assign

Yeah, no, you can't do this with Elements.

But it doesn't matter too much.
