Ignoring the fact that the rest of the editing isn't done, is liquify the best tool for eliminating the gap in the dress?

You did really well here.  It would have been easy to accidentally warp the lines in the background, but you pulled this off perfectly.

However, I can't help wondering if you've made her a bit too buxom?

I wonder, too.  I took it back a bit.  It's mostly from her arm position.   She was well positioned in the dress in other poses.  Just when her arms were up on his shoulders...    I may just have to "bless" her. ;)
