Batch Editing multiple layers in Photoshop - Large Files

Recommended Posts

I have a Mac desktop running OS X El Capitan and Photoshop CC. It is over 2 years old, and has 24GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 285.33GB free out of 999.35GB. The last time I shut down was more than 24 hours ago. I have never run a cleanup program.

I am trying to edit several images in photoshop. I need to add snow (in multiple layers) to all of the files, but it's creating huge files that are slowing my computer down and causing photoshop to freak the f out. I don't want to flatten in the files in case I need to make additional adjustments, but I am finding it difficult to so anything since they won't even save. Should I be editing the jpeg files instead? What am I doing wrong? HELP

I figured. I'm not sure how to create manageable working files to edit. I'm currently working on the raw files adjusted first in LR then opening straight from LR to edit in PS. If you can recommend one of your classes that you feel would help me with this, I am all ears! Thank you.
