Lauren Channells Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Hi i have done photos for a salon and edited them in srgb as per usual. she is telling me now that they need to be in cmyk and printed as A4 size. can i change the already edited images to cmyk? as for the printing. i have no clue as to where would print a photo a4 size. Thanks Lauren
Damien Symonds Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Hi Lauren, please read this first, then we'll discuss further.
Lauren Channells Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thanks D. I was a bit weary of even changing the settings at all. But she is going for an industry award and she needs to provide prints and digital. Digital needs to be in cmyk and under 5mb. Apparantly she gets disqualified if they aren't right.
Damien Symonds Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Ok, great. If they're imposing such stringent requirements, they should be able to advise what CMYK profile to use.
Lauren Channells Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Ok so I'll ask them. Can I change my edited pics or start again? There r only 6 so not a big deal
Damien Symonds Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 No, you've done exactly the right thing. Your edited master files must be in sRGB, as usual. Converting to CMYK is simply part of the output process, just before saving as jpeg.
