You have other issues than just Photoshop. Oh boy.

Alright, are you familiar with opening a Command Box as an Administrator? I will warn you, there is only so much I can do in a Hardware Forum. You might have to take your computer into a repair faculty, not Geek Squad.

Or you might just want to call Dell and see if they can help.

Yes I can open the command box.  I hope it isnt a bigger issue ...2.5 sessions to edit 🤪

It's worth a shot. It could also screw your computer up even more. Hard to say. You might have to bite-the-bullet and go back to an earlier version of PS CC. Let me know what happens.

Just in case, how do I go back to an earlier version of CC?  To clarify, everything is getting stuck.  The internet, word, everything.

  3. Hi Brian, Photoshop just gave me this lovely message and when I press the update drive link on the window it takes me here https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html  which tells me to go to the NVIDIA (which is what I have) website to update the driver.  I thought I read in a different thread that I should do it through windows updates?

    details on computer health

I have a PC desktop running Windows 10 and Photoshop 23.0. It is almost 2 years old, and has 16GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 644GB free out of 915GB. The last time I shut down was last night. I run a cleanup program about once a week.

    Sorry, It's you.

You are shooting in Hazy Light, pointed directly at the Sun. Remember, your camera needs something with contrast swing to lock onto and not all focus points are created equal. So while you might have put the AF point on the eye, it seems that you are a good bit back from the subject, and your camera is focusing on this little tiny eye and I'm sorry, your camera can only do so much. Even my fancy 2014 Flagship Model Camera, a Nikon D4s, would have blown focus on this photo.

So what do you do? Move closer. Or pick something else to focus on, like an arm in this photo and stop-down to f/5.6 or somewhere around there to get the Depth of Field deep enough for both the arms and face to be in "Acceptable Sharp" territory.

I'd rather it be me than the lens!  Great explanation!! I shot the boy at f/5 1/500 and iso 1,000 and the girl at f 6.3 1/640 iso 1600

  5. I would LOVE to get the profoto lights!!

I actually do own a c stand and it is pretty heavy duty.  Scares the daylight out of me with the kids running around (I've only used it at home) because if one of them somehow tips it on another kid, I imagine it would hurt badly!  When I am able to get a good on location lighting equipment I will absolutely bring an someone to help with.  I have a little 33 inch translucent shoot through umbrella, a 36 inch black back white interior umbrella, and a 47 inch octagonal softbox as well.  Once upon a time I had a YN685 speedlight that died after about a dozen or so uses.  I definitely want more quality equipment!!

  6. I've heard good things of the ad200.  Would you not use a bigger softbox with it or just the magmod?  Someone else recommended the Godox V1 as a cheaper alternative to the 600 ex-ii.  Oh man, where is the money tree when I need it?  Haha!

  7. But all that lightroom in that video ???

Walking around with a Lightstand, a 60" softbox, battery pack, sandbags, and dealing with a triggering system can be a real PITA on location.

This ? is why I've avoided finding a good lighting set up for outdoors.  It sounds so cumbersome .  I have a high schooler now so I have an assistant ?

Yes basically something like in the video would work, but I work with a lot of 2 year olds so run and gun might work better.

  8. I have not been taking the PLM outdoors, I have been relying on natural light and I've come to not enjoy it!  haha I thought the PLM would be too cumbersome to take on location, but given I've never tried it I could be completely wrong.

I'll link you to a family I just photographed that Damien helped me edit:

ISO was 5,000 here.  I just know that if I had used an OCF this image would have turned out better and easier to edit.

  9. Hi Brian, I have a Canon 6d mark ii, a digibee 400 and an 86 in plm with the black cover and white diffusion panel.  I would LOVE to get something for lighting I can take outdoors on location.  I am so tired of shooting at higher ISO's when I *know* a better way exists.  What do you recommend?
