Did you see the screen shots? It looks different. Maybe they are warmer than the screen because something is not right with the new update ?

OK so this weird. I updated the profiler and opened up your instructions to start process. Well it didn't give the options in step two and three. Like it did not show the option to pick out measurement size like the small, medium , large and it didn't ask me to adjust brightness?? You know anything about the update?

Prints are warm by the way. Brightness looks good surprisingly  even when it didn't  ask me to adjust it .

Yes if you can  re read I said the prints were  a tad darker but not bad compared how it was.

OK I'm not quite understanding. So lower the brightness first before calibrating ? Because its already quite low.

Ok. I know you've answered on many many occasions. Should I keep the lights while calibrating ? And which point should I start at ? Since I am at already d50 and native lumens ? 

So I found over at my local Home Depot 5000k at 900 lumens is the highest they had. They had higher lumens but at 2700k , yuck. I'm using 4 bulbs in the over head fixture and two lamps with two bulbs each. My prints look better ! It's still just a tad dark but a huge improvement the prints are still warmer but not  by a whole lot. I'm currently calibrated at d50 native lumens. Do you think I need to try re calibrating or find brighter bulbs , perhaps online somewhere?  

 I will not be using this. I will use the 4 in the over head light fixture and depending how bright it is I'll be using a couple more in one of the two bulb lamps or both two bulb lamps.

OkI found some LED that were 5000k and 1600 lumens or do I need a specific kind of type of bulb or CFL ?

What do I need to do first to make the prints match ?

ok I'll change them again today. So then should I calibrate tonight with the 5000k bulbs Or change the bulbs first then calibrate ?

I already have the 5000k and 800 lumens bulbs and still same problem. I had them before the 4100k bulbs. 

Well crap , those are the bulbs I had before the 4100k. I had 5000k and 880 lumens I had 4 bulbs going with those.

So when viewing the pictures in daylight the images are the opposite they are cooler and dark. I edit at night so then I need to adjust light and calibration geared towards that ?

 Its the only room I have. Yes I have sunlight coming through during the day. The screen is about 5 feet away from the window.

Not at all here ya go. I have a total of 7 bulbs in those lamps.

So right now I have 4100 k so then I should go for 5oook and maybe 800 lumens bulbs? 

So I got my prints back and they are warmer and darker than the screen. I'm at d50 native. Should I calibrate to d55 ? Or Get warmer bulbs first ?

OK , so I cannot change the walls no matter what its not possible. I edit and calibrate at night so that changes the color in the room anyway. So then I need brighter bulbs correct and warmer? If I understand you correctly ? I just sent out for prints to start the calibration process again.

I've been trying o calibrate this machine for a year now and nothing is working .I've moved my work space and changed light bulbs twice added more lamps so that I can add more light to the room and still nothing. I really don't know what to do next lol!

Also, to clarify, you have 4100k in your light fixtures but you suggested to me the 6500k? 

Are you saying if I had enough lumens the 4100 k would work ? Sorry confused.

Yes you have sent me this link before in another conversation. This company will not ship to me. So then I had to try another online store and they did not have this bulb at all so I had settled on the 4100k and 550 lumens. There is a whole post about this issue somewhere but when I typed my name in search... I didn't find it in the list on Damiens page. I wanted to go back and see what else you had suggested. IT may not work better but at least it will work with Catalina when one day I want to upgrade it.

It's very hard to find those online even. Thats why I went with the 4100k. I'm sure you don't remember the whole conversation. What recommended lumens? right now I have the 4100k and 550 lumens and that is bright I have 7 of those bulbs surrounding me. And difficult to to focus and see with those bulbs even at 550 lumens.

As far as my wall when we painted this house I specifically wanted a color that would not cause a color cast. So its a matte beige/tan with no yellow undertones its more on the grey side but not yet grey if that makes sense. The whole house is painted in that color not even 2 years ago so that's not going to change lol! 

Oh wow! Thats amazing ... Looks like a switch board lol!  What is the green contraption you got there ?  I'm about to purchase the  Spyder Pro X  and hope it works better than the Xrite I spent almost 300$ on! 

I'm just not happy with it. I will be purchasing Damien Raw class soon but I want to make sure it's calibrated correctly before I do the class.

Will the Spyder have a brightness option since that has really been my problem ?

Brian have you yet purchased this device for your iMac ? Wondering how it's working for you if you have bought it.
