Dasha Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Hi Damien, probably a silly question but whats going on with my colours when i soft proof? I understand there are out of printers gamut colours and blah blah but this looks like there extra colours coming up when i CmdY to printers profile? Its in sRGB Thanks!
Samantha LaRue Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I'm not sure I understand your question? The orange carrots, in particular, look duller in the bottom photo when soft proofing is turned on. Is that what you mean?
Damien Symonds Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 This looks quite normal. May I see a screenshot of your Proof Setup dialog? 1
Dasha Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 I was talking about the yellow mainly, on the eggs. It's had deeper yellow come through, kinda looks more 3D. 2Secs Damien
Damien Symonds Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Is Perceptual specifically what they advise?
Dasha Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 I just went to double check and they say this: To soft proof: View > Proof Setup > Custom... Device to Simulate: Your downloaded Loxley profile Rendering Intent: Relative Colorimetric Black Point Compensation should be checked Display Options (On-Screen): Simulate Paper Color should be checked (Simulate Black Ink will then automatically check) Click OK However on the accompanying pictures they got perceptual highlighted, that must be why i went for that
Damien Symonds Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Ok, definitely DON'T turn on Simulate Paper Color. They only say that for uncalibrated people who have their screens way too bright. Ok, if Perceptual seems to be what they use, that's fine. 1
Dasha Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 ok thanks! I have the bottom 2 turned off per your advice awhile back, ts just the difference seemed quite drastic in this case, i was wondering if something went wrong somewhere i
Damien Symonds Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I have no reason to think the profile is wrong. But you won't know for sure until you get the photo printed. 1
