Beckyk
I have a Mac desktop running Sierra 10.12.6 and Lightroom cc. It is over 2 years old, and has 20GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 209GB free out of 498GB. The last time I shut down was earlier today. I rarely run a cleanup program. no i dont have a screen saver and apple could not find anything as to why it started it this AM. Thanks

You might want to purchase and run this program:CleanMyMac 3 from MacPaw.com Right now there seems to be running a 20% off sale on it for a limited time. As far as the screensaver, if the MacOS did some sort of update, like go from 10.12.5 to 10.12.6, it's plausible the screensaver could have been turned on. That said, in reality, who knows? Beckyk
Thank you. Apple had told me not to run the cleanup programs, would you know why they say this?
Damien Symonds
That's weird.
Brian
Because they are Apple. Also, there is a program called MacKeeper, which is pure EVIL. Never-Ever-Ever install or purchase MacKeeper! I run CleanMyMac 3 weekly and have been for years.
