Scanner’s interface is fairly simple, and its buttons should be fairly logical. Let’s examine some of them:

1. Parent Folder. If you’ve dived down into a folder, this takes you up one level in the hierarchy.

2. Back. Just like in a web browser, this takes you back to the last folder you were viewing.

3. Rescan Folder. If you’ve deleted some files from a folder, and the map is no longer accurate, rescan it.

4. Drives. This column lists all the drives on your computer, even if they’re empty.

5. Resize. These buttons can enlarge the map, and the whole window.

6. Summary. This one should be called “Scan the whole computer again” because that’s what it does.
