rswannabe Posted November 5, 2018 Author Posted November 5, 2018 I'd have to say not really. Or, at leaset it didn't seem like it.
Damien Symonds Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Well, how can you make your room brighter?
rswannabe Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 Not really sure. About the only thing I can think of is a high powered floor lamp or something. Not real practical for room, but it sounds like I’m out of options. I’m just trying to figure out what changed and why I can’t get it back.
Damien Symonds Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I forget if you told me ... did you try a different lab?
rswannabe Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 I did. Only one so far. I’ve downloaded software for a couple others, but navigation is so counterintuitive, I need to spend some time figuring it out.
Damien Symonds Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 And did that one match your original lab?
rswannabe Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 They were very, very close to each other and both darker than screen.
Damien Symonds Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Ok, then don't worry about any other labs. You have all the evidence you need. Now we're in "very good friend" territory. Do you have one who would let you borrow their computer screen for a day so you can attach to your computer and calibrate?
rswannabe Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 Ha ha. Are we talking “any” screen? I don’t think I know anyone off hand that has a decent non-apple screen.
rswannabe Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 HOLY SHIT!!! I think I finally got it! I contacted Datacolor and they had me reset to factory, which I thought I had already done and a few other things. Anyway, at the end of calibration, it looked much better, but still a bit bright. But, now my brightness is at 30 and it's pretty damn close. Now maybe I can get some motivation to edit again! Thank you for sticking with me. As an aside, now that you're back on FB, are general questions prefered there, or here since I'm a premium member?

Of course you can ask them wherever you find more convenient. But yeah, I'd prefer them on FB.
rswannabe Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 Sounds good. In the process, Datacolor is trying to upsell me to the Spyder 5. Worth the upgrade?
Damien Symonds Posted November 25, 2018 Posted November 25, 2018 If you're getting a good calibration (finally!) with your current calibrator, then no, I wouldn't bother upgrading.
