fab, thank you Damien, i'll be trying this tomorrow to see how it works and then i'll try it a few other photos.

i've been playing, i'm really loving it.

I think i need to make some more textures, do you have any guidance / knowledge on which types of textures go with which types of images?

ie: does a darker texture go better with a darker background, and a lighter texture go better with a lighter background?

To be honest, very often it shouldn't matter.  It all depends on which blend mode you use.

yes of course, here is the photo we were working with, which i really like, but i think my version is slightly bluer, but that seems to be coming from the texture.

and i've also added another i've been playing with using the same method.

i'm loving it.

are you talking about the background on the darker image, and how much i've masked off around her head and how i've created a circle around her head?

If yes, then thank you for pointing that out, it does perhaps need a bit of tweaking.
