How many pixels do I need for a 2.66m x 1.83 m print

Recommended Posts

Hi Damien, I’ve been asked to supply a file to be printed at 2.66m high x 1.83m wide. What resolution do I need? It’s to be the background behind a self serve library unit. I have a D800e so plenty of pixels to start with. Resizing in small increments works best doesn’t it?

Let's put this nonsense to bed right away.  That has NEVER been true.  I don't know why this myth still exists.

You need to talk directly to the printer, to find out what resolution they require.

As you know, it's common for normal printing to be done at 300ppi, but that's far too high for this.  It's more likely to be 100ppi or thereabouts.
