Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 It really sounds like graphics card interference in your new computer, doesn't it? I can't think of any other explanation. Maybe see if it's possible to temporarily turn off the graphics card?
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Sorry that last comment may be misleading. When I bought the new computer I used the old spyder calibrator that I was using on my previous computer which I didn't have a problem when it came to printing. I installed the spyder calibrator on the new computer and my prints were too dark . I think that was the spyder elite. I can see if I can find it if you like I have no idea how to turn it off.
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Should I install the older version of photoshop and see if it's the same in that?
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 I installed the older version of photoshop and it appears to be the same as the new version I know you say you should never view images in the photos app but I'm wondering why it would be a better representation of my print when I do? Any thoughts on that Damien?
Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 Pure coincidence. Put it out of your mind. Gonna have to turn off the graphics card.
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Ok, I will have to see if I can find someone that can show me how to do that because I have no idea.
Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 I think I'm wrong about this. You can't turn off a graphics card altogether, it seems. We just need to make it run in basic mode.
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Ok so do you have any idea how to do that? I was going to call geeks 2 u tomorrow.
Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 Oh, I forgot to ask, what kind of cable is connecting your monitor to your computer?
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 I know you are going to scream at me for this but I have to use the old school cable not an HDMI cord. If I use the HDMI cord I get all these coloured lines flickering on the screen and also the icons on the desktop move off to the edge so I can only see half of them. It's been like that since I bought it years ago.
Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 Yeah, that's bad. Let's try to fix that.
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 I've tried multiple HDMI cords and I always get the same result.
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Yes on both computers. I tried again this morning.
Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 Then it's time for a new screen. Let's not waste any more time on this. However, when I say "new" I don't actually mean new. https://www.facebook.com/groups/195567190503489/permalink/2659777307415786/
Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 I've just been browsing gumtree in your area. There are some excellent IPS screens for sale.
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 I saw this one on market place Damien. I have no idea what I'm looking for spec wise. Would this be ok? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1394547907375349/
Damien Symonds Posted November 17, 2019 Posted November 17, 2019 Gosh yes, good choice. The Dell Ultrasharps are great. I'm running one myself.
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 This might be a silly question but there is no chance it wouldn't be compatible with my computer?
Mankro Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 Buying a new monitor is not going to fix the problems I'm having with the prints too dark is it?
