Instructions from print shops

If you’ve begun exploring the Artwork Guidelines of various printing firms, I’m sure you’ve seen multiple references to black, or “K”. The most common phrase you might see is “Text must be 100% K” or words to that effect. You might also be given instructions about “rich black”, which varies from shop to shop.

Here are some examples I found:
