All of my photos seem to have a lot of noise, especially the ones shot from farther back and the focus seems soft.  WB set with card

yes it is bigger so how to I train my eye to see it as in focus? I think I have deleted files that I shouldn't have over the past two months

Yes. This is normal. Especially if you have a new iMac with a 5K Retina Screen. You will notice more flaws in your photos, and start to see more of the quirks and shortcomings with your lenses.
