Inês Maia
Hi Damien, I just signed up to your page today, but have been following on facebook as well. I was wondering if you could help with this glass glare, which has a weird purple colour. I attached the picture with two crops for the eyes, each one has different "levels" of glare... I have some more pictures with this purple hue. Thank you!!
Damien Symonds
Hi @Inês Maia, first of all let's fix the MUCH bigger problem. https://www.damiensymonds.net/art_tscs000.html

Damien Symonds
Ok, now go ahead and do your raw processing on the photo. I'm very sure her dress isn't supposed to be blue.
Inês Maia
The raw processing was already done 😅 Does it look better like this? I don't have a screen calibrator yet, working on getting one
Damien Symonds
It's somewhat better. It'll do for now. Ok, may I see the eye closeups again?

Damien Symonds
Regrettably, the two sides need completely different methods. https://max.mailbigfile.com/223bc86eaab1ee515e23f6fb8c67c72f/listFiles.php https://max.mailbigfile.com/a50117e6ddf4f0ace8e8d67a2f1756dd/listFiles.php
Inês Maia
These look perfect! I'm so sorry Damien, but is it possible to have a run down of the steps you did? My skills on photoshop are pretty basic...
Damien Symonds
Have you examined each layer?
Inês Maia
Yes, I'm here at the moment. But now I have no idea how to put that histogram looking like yours... Is there a way to see what I'm selecting when I'm masking? Sorry, I have my program in portuguese. I've tried to change it to english, because it is easier to follow, but the only option I get for languages is portuguese 😅
Damien Symonds
Have a look at the individual channels in the Levels layer. See the little menu that says "RGB"? Pull that down.
Inês Maia
yeah, found it and i 've done that eye! feeling dumb now 😶 Having a hard time with the other now. i was able to add the channel mixer and the levels layers. But cannot figure out the previous steps. How do you blur the hard line in the purple and then turn the purple to grey?
Damien Symonds
The Channel Mixer layer turns it to grey. The blurring was done with the patch tool.
Inês Maia
I've tried all combinations and it doesn't look as smooth as yours. can you help me see what is wrong?

Inês Maia
here goes the weirder ones, i have no idea how these patterns happened 🤦♀️:
Damien Symonds
Ok, first apply this Channel Mixer layer to all of them. R +100, 0, 0, 0 G +87, 0, 0, -6 B +80, 0, 0, -9 (Make sure you get those numbers in EXACTLY the right order.) Then use the Handyman Method to fix whatever problems are left.
