jak5887
I just updated to creative cloud and I used to follow your suggestions of "shaping" to 5x7 and leaving resolution blank. I sell digitals and I think from reading this was the best of the "don't do" situation. In creative cloud I no longer see the resolution option. I didn't see a tutorial on the new creative cloud cropping - - do you have one?
Damien Symonds
I have never suggested cropping to 5:7 shape. http://www.damiensymonds.net/2011/02/selling-digital-images.html 3 hours ago, jak5887 said: In creative cloud I no longer see the resolution option. jak5887
Ok - that's right - - it was 11x15 but I also remember we could leave the resolution blank before. Now, there is no resolution field.
Damien Symonds
Yep, Ratio is the perfect setting for this. But of course, you'd need to change it when cropping for print.
jak5887
Ok, so I don't need to worry a/b resolution then? I just wish it was there like before so I could leave it blank - - I was just worried that it was populating it somewhere else. What do I need to change it to when cropping to print? - - are you referring to the shape or the resolution?
Damien Symonds
Well, for print you DO need a resolution, of course (eg 300ppi, if that's what your lab uses).

Click on dropdown arrow next to ratio. It is all there.
Damien Symonds
Yep, "WxHxResolution" is the one you'd use for print.
