StudioPopJess
HI! I had made last minute decision in the chaos of this wedding to leave my light where it was so I could get the grooms reaction ( those photos don't look like this!) this is a screen shot, just a screen shot.. forgive me I haven't posted in a long time, the second is how I would normally edit that reflects my style.. but it makes the dad blue with spillover light.... I have never taken your raw class ( I know I know). just wondering if you can make any suggestions? thank you!
Damien Symonds
I can probably help with this, but I'll need the actual photo not a screenshot.
StudioPopJess
is there a way to send the raw? or do you want the jpeg?
StudioPopJess
I have a bunch of these, I know you hate Lightroom , but I do use it and did dehaze.... don't hate me and yell at me please lol
Damien Symonds
You do have Photoshop though, right?

Damien Symonds
Add a Levels adjustment layer and enter these values: - Red channel: 0/1.00/230 - Green channel: 85/1.00/230 - Blue channel: 125/1.00/225 This will make the whole photo kinda crazy orange. Then invert the mask to hide the adjustment. Then use a big soft brush at 10% opacity to paint onto the problem area.

Damien Symonds
What? I just told you how to fix it.
StudioPopJess
I guess I don't know how to do that.. Levels I always use the slider to make brighter or darker this is what I see with levels
Damien Symonds
See where it says "RGB" in that little pull-down at the top? That's where you find the individual channels.
StudioPopJess
color is better, but the haze is still there ... is that the best that can be done?
Damien Symonds
This is a different version of the photo than you posted for me before?
StudioPopJess
this is edited with what you said and I removed the light stand
Damien Symonds
I gave you very precise numbers based on the exact image you'd given me. This one: On 2/16/2024 at 9:05 AM, StudioPopJess said: I have a bunch of these, I know you hate Lightroom , but I do use it and did dehaze.... don't hate me and yell at me please lol But the image you applied my numbers to was different. A different crop, and a different edit. That's why my numbers didn't work for you.
StudioPopJess
oh, I have like 50.. it looks the same crop to me.. I removed the light stand .. applied your correction.. but then I used levels to darken more too to try to get rid of haze

StudioPopJess
ok, I may have cropped it in when I was removing the light stand
StudioPopJess
for example... was trying to fix color and haze in about 50 images and I will remove the light stand on right and crop in if it makes it easier for me.. I didn't think a crop would make a different in color or the haze.

Never crop AT ALL. Period. https://www.damiensymonds.net/2011/09/cropping-tutorial.html
