ShannonV
Upgraded. Maybe shouldn't have....now my Spyder 4 pro isn't working like it did. Are they not compatible? My Macbook is 3 yrs old
ShannonV
Wait. My MacBook is only 2 years old. If that makes a difference
Damien Symonds
Have you checked for upgrades to the Spyder software also?
ShannonV
Yeah. Tried that. Downloaded the updates. No luck.
Damien Symonds
I'm so sorry, this is out of my league. 4 hours ago, ShannonV said: now my Spyder 4 pro isn't working like it did In what way isn't it working? Is it not launching at all?
ShannonV
It doesn't stop midway for brightness, and at the end, when I hit save it reverts to the original Mac calibration - very blue. I contacted Datacolor.
Brian
I sense a Spyder5 Pro is in your future...
ShannonV
Well. Damn. That's my fear too. I haven't heard back from Datacolor yet, so there is still a teeny bit of hope... just in case....good sales on the spyder5?
Damien Symonds
How long since you last used the Spyder successfully?
ShannonV
February. They emailed me some things to try, so I will try it out tomorrow and see
ShannonV
Ok, so before I do what they've asked, I want to know your opinion. In order to try and fix this I have to delete all the old stuff from my Spyder, including my old profiles. Right now, I can revert to an old profile, which matches my prints, and at least edit. I am in the middle of editing a wedding. If this doesn't work, I will have to recalibrate with a new calibrator. My brightness may or may not match my previous target, I can't confirm without the calibration. - but I matched my prints as close as possible. So long story short, would you finish the wedding and then figure out the calibrator?
Damien Symonds
Yes, finish the wedding first.
Brian
I agree. Use that profile that matches your prints and get that wedding done. Your old profile will be way better than the default Mac one.
