If all else fails

If, after numerous calibration attempts, you can’t get a result you like, you have several options:

Try calibrating a different computer

It would be good to find out if the calibrator is faulty.  So try calibrating a different computer and see if the same problems occur.

(A different computer probably won't have Adobe software on it, but make sure you install Adobe Bridge temporarily so that you can view your photos accurately.  Remember that the default photo viewing programs on all computers are not colour-managed.  You MUST view your photos in a colour-managed program like Bridge.)

Contact X-Rite

They’re the experts, after all. See if they have a solution for you. Maybe you’ve got some kind of graphics card glitch, or something.

Lower your expectations

Choose the best calibration, and live with it.

New screen

If you’re working on a laptop, consider buying a good external monitor to run off it. General info about monitors here.
