Damien Symonds
< Go back to the previous step << Go back to the beginning How is your calibration? Choose the option which best describes your result: The brightness and colour are both perfect. A great calibration result. The brightness is really darn close to perfect. I can definitely live with it. And the colour is perfect. The brightness is perfect, or close enough to perfect for me. The colour is almost perfect, but I would love it if it was a tiny bit better. The brightness seems quite good, but the colour is not. It’s noticeably colder/warmer than the prints. The brightness isn’t right. It’s darker/brighter than the prints. But the colour, as far as I can tell, seems fine. It's all wrong. The brightness isn’t right. It’s darker/brighter than the prints. And the colour doesn’t look right either, it’s colder/warmer than the prints. This is my third or fourth time round to this damn page. I’ve tried everything you’ve suggested, and it’s still not looking right. Link to comment
Rebecca
When I adjusted my brightness, I could also adjust the contrast. The factory reset had this value at 75 (out of 100). I didn't see anywhere that we should manually adjust contrast so I assume I leave this value at 75? I'm having trouble getting my calibration to match my prints and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it. My prints have more contrast than what I see on my monitor, but I'm also seeing splotchy highlights (mostly in the skin) on the monitor that aren't in my prints. I was calibrated before all this with an old Spyder and just upgraded to the Sypder X Elite and I'm honestly not pleased. I just read through your troubleshooting so I will try the calibrator on another screen and correct the lighting around my setup. My screen might also be due for a replacement, it's a Dell U2414H. Damien Symonds
Everything I've ever read says to leave the Contrast setting at factory default, just like sharpness setting (if your screen has that). Link to comment
jjmckillip
When I compare, the picture has deeper greens in the grass, and the faces seem a bit dull Link to comment
jjmckillip
I reset to the original, because I did some adjustment. The picture is lighter and less color concentrated and a bit pinker than the print. If that makes sense Link to comment
Damien Symonds
How many prints are you comparing, @jjmckillip? Link to comment
jjmckillip
I only thought I needed one at the time I ordered. Didn't read carefully enough. So 1 Link to comment

jjmckillip
OK Got more prints finally and ready to continue. Got more prints and recalibrated just to get me refreshed again. Got it looking as close as I could. Now to just figure out where I was in this process! Link to comment
