When I adjusted my brightness, I could also adjust the contrast. The factory reset had this value at 75 (out of 100). I didn't see anywhere that we should manually adjust contrast so I assume I leave this value at 75? I'm having trouble getting my calibration to match my prints and I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it. My prints have more contrast than what I see on my monitor, but I'm also seeing splotchy highlights (mostly in the skin) on the monitor that aren't in my prints. I was calibrated before all this with an old Spyder and just upgraded to the Sypder X Elite and I'm honestly not pleased.
I just read through your troubleshooting so I will try the calibrator on another screen and correct the lighting around my setup. My screen might also be due for a replacement, it's a Dell U2414H.
