Ykpettengill Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 where should i print here in the US? I know it's me, but I need my monitor to place nicely with all printers, right? In case my client goes to another printer? Because right now i wouldn't be happy with the prints or files I've sent them compared to what I'm seeing on my screen...

Lightroom MUST be on sRGB. 3 minutes ago, Ykpettengill said: where should i print here in the US? I know it's me, but I need my monitor to place nicely with all printers, right? You can't control how other people print, so don't even think about it. It will give you nightmares. You just need to get your own house in order.
Damien Symonds Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Some lab reviews here. 5 minutes ago, Damien Symonds said: What setting are you on here? http://www.damiensymonds.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/cm06-1.gif Just bumping this question, in case you missed it.

Ykpettengill Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 looks the closest with lumen 88, with white point to 55. Monitor is still a hair too red. would that be a white point issue or a lumen issue?
Damien Symonds Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I need to understand what you mean by "lumen".
Ykpettengill Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 went down to white balance 50. Still too red.
Ykpettengill Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 is this just a f**king light bulb problem now? Eff me.
Ykpettengill Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 (edited) also when comparing them in lightroom, should i have the background white like the screenshot? 25% grey? Black? Edited June 30, 2016 by Ykpettengill added text
Ykpettengill Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 and what do i do when i switch labs? Do i have to recalibrate again for each lab?
Ykpettengill Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 i did the factory reset on the monitor prior to all the calibrations. should i change these manually in order to manually match Millers? then again, what do I do with another lab? thank you so much for everything btw. sorry for having so much trouble with it. it's the dell https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SPWPF1O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ykpettengill Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 Luminance meter that you suggest to be at 100? On the colormunki calibration steps? Goes from 80-120 and native as options?
Ykpettengill Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 Shit sorry it's the menu above the luminance. It's the white balance? I'm on my phone now but it goes from d55, d60, d65 and native?
Damien Symonds Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 For.the.love.of.God. Have you, or have you not, followed my instructions? Not skimmed them, followed them? Every.single.word.
Ykpettengill Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 Yes. 5 times. With different levels of brightness and white levels and they print is more green and the screen more pink. Should just at this point custom my screen to the prints? Or say screw millers and calibrate per your initial instructions?
Ykpettengill Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 Brightness finally yes, close enough. But still red on screen, green on print
Damien Symonds Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 1 minute ago, Ykpettengill said: Whoa. This is REALLY bad. Never make raw edits on tiff files.
Ykpettengill Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 the brightness is still brighter on screen than the print, but manageable. I'd just have to deepen the blacks a bit to match it.
