Kellie W Posted May 20, 2021 Hi Damien, my renewal date for PS CC is coming up. I am looking at PS Elements currently on sale for $70 USD and I am wondering why I have PS CC? Is seems excessively expensive. Please guide me, if I was to switch to Elements, what am I giving up? Do I still get Bridge with Elements or is that an add on? (Sorry if this is a question for Adobe). As I am living here in Canada in the midst of a "third covid wave" with talks of a "fourth wave" I am looking for the "right ways" to keep my costs down. If this change isn't it, please advise.
Damien Symonds Posted May 20, 2021 Yep, Bridge is free for everyone, so that's not a problem. However Image Processor in Bridge won't work for you any more (in case you use that). If you get Elements you'll need to read the Elements section of the Levels Class, it's a bit of a learning curve to make that change. You're not losing any Levels functionality, but the different interface will feel clunky to you at first. A bit more info here: https://www.damiensymonds.net/what2buy_soft.html I would definitely encourage you to try the free trial of Elements for a week before your CC runs out, so you can decide if you want to commit to the change. Kellie W Posted May 20, 2021 I am not sure what the image processor is, so I don't think I use the image processor. Here is an interesting question. I owned Elements back in 2012 and 2013. Can I reactive these? It seems like I could or will they no longer work with my Mac and Big Sur. Sorry if this isn't posted in the right place. Or is it better to get the 2021 version? Also what is Premiere Elements? PS CC just seems wrong when I am not using the LR add on. (you have converted me).
Kellie W Posted May 20, 2021 I should have phrased that better... If it don't edit video is there any benefit to having Premiere Elements?

Damien Symonds Posted May 20, 2021 Sorry I missed this. ACR has improved a lot in Elements since then. But yeah, I guess you could try your old version first.
Kellie W Posted May 20, 2021 I am rereading Levels from the Elements perspective. Would you say the biggest (obvious) difference is the lack of the Quick Mask?
Kellie W Posted May 20, 2021 Ugh not sure I can make this adjustment. Thank you for your time Sir. I do appreciate ALL your help.
Kellie W Posted May 21, 2021 ok I am probably going to ask the dumbest question ever.... I have downloaded the trial 2021 PS Elements. Where is the adobe bridge? when I google "free adobe bridge" the CC comes up. Does this CC version of Bridge work with Elements and PS CC (and is it free)? I am most likely missing something clearly obvious but can't find it.
Damien Symonds Posted May 21, 2021 Yep, use the latest version of Bridge CC.
