fwendly Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 New studio dress is showing a lot of moire. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Also, is it safe to assume this fabric will always cause this same issue when I photograph it? I am not sure if it is a fabric issue or a lighting and shooting issue. Thanks.

I am not sure if it is a fabric issue or a lighting and shooting issue. Not EVERY time. But yes, the risk will always be there. If you were further away, or closer to, the dress when taking this photo, the moire might not have appeared. Moire is an effect which happens when the fabric pattern is about the same size and the pixels on your sensor.

Damien Symonds Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Thanks. It's nasty. First, try the moire brush in ACR.

fwendly Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 The brush helped with the discoloration, but the pattern remains.

Damien Symonds Posted April 3, 2022 Posted April 3, 2022 Different distances might help, but you'll never know which distances are going to work or not I'm saying lost cause.
