Moire

New studio dress is showing a lot of moire. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Also, is it safe to assume this fabric will always cause this same issue when I photograph it? I am not sure if it is a fabric issue or a lighting and shooting issue.

Thanks.

Not EVERY time.  But yes, the risk will always be there.

If you were further away, or closer to, the dress when taking this photo, the moire might not have appeared.  Moire is an effect which happens when the fabric pattern is about the same size and the pixels on your sensor.

It's nasty.

First, try the moire brush in ACR.

Ugh. Brand new dress. I am so bummed that it will be an issue. I will give that a try.

Darn.

I'm so sorry, I've got nothing :(

So going forward to I have to shoot at different distances to find the one that won't wreak havoc? Or is this dress a lost cause?
