Which Graphics Tablet to buy?

Recommended Posts

Hi Damien,

Further to your article that recommends the Wacom Intuos tablets. A new line has been released to replace the Intuos pen (Art, Photo, Draw and Comic). My question is regarding the Art tablet, as it comes in Medium and the photo only come in small. Is this tablet sufficient? I am using a 21' iMac so my understanding is the size is right. Also wondering if the extra cost for the Pro would be worth it.

I've been editing with a mouse for two years and I'm finally sick of the frustration this method causes ??

Thanks

Hi Crystal,

Thanks! So my understanding is the new tablets, regardless of their names, are all the same. The only difference seems to be the software and the art comes in medium. Based on Damien's advise the medium seems to be the best size for my screen. As for the Art vs the pro, the pro has a resolution of 5080 lpi and the Art 2540 lpi. I'm not sure how important this is for photo editing.

Thanks for the link but the postage to Australia and the exchange rate would make those more expensive than buying them full price here :o)

In my opinion, no.

Be prepared for some initial frustration with a tablet too.  But it's worth it.
