Hi mate, are these the instructions you were following?
-
@Brian, can you help with this?
-
Run CleanMyMac pronto.
And do some serious backing up to clear space.

Its hard drive has 12GB free out of 250GB.
This is catastrophic. You're lucky your computer even boots up at all.
Brian always says you need at least 1/3rd free space on your hard drive. For you, 85GB at least.

Ok, let me know what you discover, and if necessary, show me a screenshot again.
-
You'll need to add noise to the light.
-
Ok, so this is good news then?
-
Ok, try the Troubleshooting section of this one. It should be roughly the same.
I need to know if you have a desktop screen in the house. Any old desktop screen will do, it doesn't have to be fancy. If you have one, it would be a good idea to plug it into the laptop and calibrate it, and see if the same problems arise.

It's an ever-present risk with any rich-coloured clothing. Always feel free to post any time you encounter it.

Oh gosh, thank you! I didn't realise the link was outdated. I've just updated it, it will work now.

Phew!
Now, are you certain that the calibrator is still functioning ok? Was it working ok on the old computer?

I have just brought a new laptop and have just calibrated this one for the first time. I have a acer aspire F15 laptop and a spyder4pro.
Oh gee, is it a touchscreen?

also on my other laptop you gave me instructions on an icon to go on desktop which i can click into to check current calibration profile as computer was lagging to switch on calibrated profile. How can I do this again for this laptop?
This, I think.

If you search my articles for "patch tool" you'll find a few references to it.

Great.

Better?
No.

I don't have a video about it, sorry, but you'll find some on YouTube, I imagine.
It's very simple, just circle the area (with a little bit of buffer around it) then drag the area onto another area of similar texture.
-
I urge you to read Module 11 of the class again, by the way.
Regarding the wrinkle, plain old Patch Tool might work fine, I reckon.
-
Gosh yes, 5 is always too low.
-
Hmmm ... when you saved the jpeg file for upload just now, what Quality Level did you choose? It looks quite degraded.
-
Hmmm ... that will depend on the texture, I guess. May I see a 100% crop?
-
While you're waiting for Brian, can you do this for him?
-
Your master file should be a PSD (or maybe a TIFF). Have you read this article?

Ok, so there shouldn't be any ambiguity? Does your screen match your pro lab prints?
