  1. Nope. Thank god i don't have that kind of money. Even if i'll have, Priority will go to 1. 14-24 2. Macro lens with more than 150 MM preferably with VR if i can get one. ( I returned 200 mm macro .. but i'm debating whether i should bring it back. I'll share few pictures shortly. That is insane lens Sir ... ) 3. D500 so i can extend reach of my 70-200 naturally with additional frames per second so i can go after some birds something like Parakeets 5. Let me know if the order seems natural. Sorry for this question on the ISO 4000 .. This is my first serious camera .. did not know how others deal with it. But thats why i'm putting question to you and @Damien Symonds . You guys seen ton of pictures, from way more cameras i can imagine, so this discussion helps a lot to know where i need to focus to improve.
  2. Thank you Brian, I’ve to check what setting i kept in camera. I think i kept on for high iso noise reduction. + I went excess on noise removal in raw processing. (Where Damien had to pull me in correct direction.) I see gear syndrome in me taking over. I was hoping you’d say 850 will solve my problem. ?? Thanks as always.
  3. Hi Brian, i'm just curious about D750's performance at low light. I mainly purchased this camera due to supposedly top class performance (at that price point) against noise. Recently i was forced to shoot in the low light (than i usually prefer.) example Nikhil 2, and i'm not sure whether 1. This is expected performance at that ISO and i need to take this dose of reality in and get better or 2. This is equipment thing? Whether i got defective piece or 3. Am i doing something wrong, technique wise, need to do few adjustments to get better out of equipment ? Appreciate your valuable input.
  4. Thank you Brian!!! It’s for $1300. Looks in good condition. I guess it’s not in ground breaking sale (although they labled it as sale) so I’ll continue to wait till I’ll be ready for landscape photography. I also saw 16-30 for $750. But I guess, if at all I’ve to spend, better put some extra and get 14-24 right ?
  5. Thank you as always Brian. What would be fair price to pay in local store for good condition for used 14-24 ? i’m good couple of years away from landscape photography but in case they ask me to pick other lens instead of macro I’m returning, I should know how much more I’ve to fork out. As of now, I’ve around $1100 paid.
  6. Hi Brian, zeiss glass got some great reputation. But they come only manual for Nikon. I was wondering if I should try one for wide angle where I guess sunset or mountain is not going to move. So to put it in question, 1. Unless you are trying to put people in the scene( which at the moment I’m not) does auto focus matter that much for wide angle ? 2. If not, does zeiss got something really good in wider than 24 mm beating Nikons (labled as legendary ) 14-24 ? Appreciate if you can recommend something
  7. In case that guy refuses to take it back. ( I hope he doesn't get to that .. but if he does ) .. and asks me to pick different lens. I saw Nikon 14-24 there ? worth a pick ? I guess he had sigma 150 mm and 105 macro as well. where to put money. In my country .. If i buy no matter how much warranty and all, it is very hard to return. max to max i can get different thing. Don't know about US second hand purchase.
  8. ohh my god. I totally forgot about that part. I'd definitely return it.
  9. Sorry for double post. I'd (at least try to) return it. Thank you.
  10. Thank you Brian, i'll return it. I hope he'd take it back.
  11. @Brian Someone touch based with me (They bought few prints from me.) and wanted me to take picture of flowers and other things ( how we'd put it as macro work). I ended up in local shop to search for second hand version of 105 macro. Old honest salesman told me today was my lucky day and handed me AF Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4D IF-ED in good condition. Price was reasonable, slightly higher than online version but i support local. Given that i will always need higher aperture (f/8 to f/32 ) for macro work (so f/4 should not be problem) and given it'd be offering me higher (and hence better) working distance than 105 mm, i ended up buying it. Just wanted to check if this was mistake .. Yet to take test shot. Appreciate your thoughts on this. Also There is this radioactivity chatter. i've 2 year old in house and i found this. Should i return lens? Or its safe but just to keep it away from my little one ? The closest she come to my gear is to dragging my photography equipment, picking up lens till we notice that and snatch it back from her. Or its not that much issue? . Something to keep in mind but not deal breaker.

  13. In that case, we'll lose those pixel rest of the way ? wouldn't that be loss ... i mean .. since this is for saving JPEG for web .. .. this is going to be save as thing and i guess thats why it's ok ?
  14. Figured it out. There is setting buried in .. "Show cropped Area". Every time there is update, Adobe takes liberty to update few settings for you ? I checked it ... Now i can see picture like i used to see earlier and (for me) it makes much easier to crop image to my liking. I still see those crazy color blocks above in picture once in while but I guess its about my laptops processing power or cache capacity. Thank you for those steps.
  15. It is not going well. Since this was taking long time, i kept it on the side. (for a long long time. ). All steps are coming well except for Crop step. I want to manually decide crop. When i come to that step, all screen go to black and some color strips like it used to come on very old television sets.) when i try to change crop it goes all crazier. Attaching screenshots. This step is killing me. I got all steps in my workflow settled and once this step is done, i'll be able to start posting my pictures to facebook and instagram. Can you please help ? Probably not related to this or may be thats the issue, any Crop tool update in photoshop CC ? I don't know if its just me but earlier when i used to draw crop, i could move image or crop just fine, now ... its so annoying .. that i'm thinking to use light room just for the crop feature given how easy it is there and how painful this crop is turning out to be.
  16. 20 % Too much faith in Tamron's Image stabilization and 80 % Overconfidence (That i'll get away with this) .. thats what killed this entire photoshoot for me. Lesson learned (pretty hard way !!). Thinking about it .. i should have just revisited .. what i was doing in terms of overall settings. .. i was very nervous that day .. got carried away .. looking at just histogram .. thinking exposure is good. .. Thank you for input though. I won't repeat this mistake again.
  17. I apologize in advance for intruding in question opened by Mary here, and probably this is stupid question but @Brian.. Aperture value is supposed to be for lens opening right ? (I don't know .. i'm still on single on camera flash ) but this different f stops for light got me confused. What am i missing here? even if you have 2 lights, you are going to have single lens .. and i'm totally confused as how can you have f/11 and f/8 ? or are you saying f/11 & f/8 in terms of stop from exposure/light perspective .. so you mean .. have main light on lesser stop and increase light stop on second light ? Sorry for confusion.. But i'm trying to figure out getting flash off camera .. and adding another flash and i'm not getting this point hence i'm raising this question.
  18. yeah i don't know what was going through my head at that time. I put ISO 800 and went to reduce shutter till 1/60th .. could have easily gone for more ISO value and kept beautiful expression... lesson learned !!
  19. Thank you So much for the inputs .. As of now, i'm practicing and trying to cut down time i need to complete the editing processes. Also kind of creating checklist of "Things to watch out for" .. I add item there if i've to spend more time in editing. Hopefully i'll be ready soon.
