Damien Symonds
For early Christmas, about the 16th. But let's hope we can get this sorted before then. 27 minutes ago, Truth Designs said: Is yours set exactly like this too?
Truth Designs
Yes, apart from the fact that I can't figure out what ICC profile my computer is using. This is the screenshot from my display settings...
Damien Symonds
Hang on ... can you choose this for me? Then show me a screenshot of the window that opens?
Truth Designs
This is what pops up.. mine doesn't have as many details as what pops up on Cara's, even though they're same computer. ?
Damien Symonds
How weird. In between "Night light settings" and "Scale and layout" there should be a "Colour profile" section. Does Cara's have the "Colour profile" section?
Truth Designs
Yep.
Damien Symonds
Gosh, how bizarre. So somehow you've turned something off, or Cara has turned something on ... or vice versa. If there is a Dell PremierColor control panel on both computers, you need to examine the settings and see how they differ, I reckon.
Truth Designs
Okey doke. Will do.
Damien Symonds
Which web browser do you both use?
Truth Designs
Chrome
Damien Symonds
Great! Chrome is completely shithouse, and we need a shithouse browser for this test. I want to know, when you both open the exact same web page, whether they look wildly different in colour. (Or whether this problem is restricted only to Adobe programs.) Truth Designs
Cool. Websites looks different too.
Damien Symonds
Ok. That firms my conviction that this is something to do with the PremierColor. If you can find how the settings differ, and make Cara's match yours, you'll (hopefully) find that Cara's computer calibrates properly. If this is the case, it might be also true that you get to hang on to your Spyder 3 for a bit longer
Truth Designs
Ok. We'll check that out this arv and let you know... my PremierColor option has just decided to disappear. It was there 10 mins ago and now it's not, so I'll restart, regroup and try again. ?
Damien Symonds
So that we may be thorough with our analysis, can you also do this for me?
Truth Designs
My computer: I have a PC laptop running Windows 10 Home 64-bit and Photoshop cc. It is over 2 years old, and has 16GB of RAM. Its hard drive has 16GB free out of 476GB. The last time I shut down was just before posting this thread. I rarely run a cleanup program. Truth Designs
Lol. Unfortunately not because of the size of my Dropbox syncing. I didn't realise it was this bad though. I have just done a selective sync and told it to stop syncing my photos. They are now only on Dropbox online, so my hard drive space shouldn't be so bad now. I'll go back and check in a sec once Dropbox sync has finished....
Damien Symonds
Truly, it's amazing your computer even starts up. This is very very very bad.
Truth Designs
Oops... Ok, it now says 115 free
Damien Symonds
Ok, that's a bit better. Still not great, but out of the danger zone at least. I encourage you to run Glary on both computers when you get a chance, and maybe Scanner too. When you have time.
